Hello hello, and welcome to Episode 138 of Life On the Brink!

I am currently due with my second daughter any day now, and before I go on a postpartum hiatus I am taking this episode to share all the details of this pregnancy: what's different from last time, how I'm preparing for birth and postpartum, and reflecting on my parenting expectations from two years ago! It's a sweet little finale to round out not only this season of the podcast, but also the season of motherhood for me.

From Episode 107:
“I don’t think I will have a true style, but the two words that come to mind when I think of how I would like to be as a parent are “calming” and “present”. I definitely value discipline and structure (my child will absolutely have manners) but I don’t want to sweat every detail or feel tied to markers of development. I’ve learned a lot as a teacher, and I hope I will be able to bring some of those communication skills into parenting. We’ll see!”

This Week’s Little Joy: My current breakfast fixation: a super ripe peach, split, filled with plain whole milk Greek yogurt and topped with honey and my homemade granola.
What I’m Listening To: Bobby Darin's album, "That's All." Zoe loves the song "Beyond the Sea" right now, as she recognizes it as the credit song from Finding Nemo. This album is just really good, though, so we've been playing our vinyl copy quite a bit.
Thank you so much for listening! Feel free to leave a comment, or head to Apple Podcasts to leave a star rating or review. If you have any suggestions for future episodes, send an email in the contact form on this site. I’d love to hear from you, and I'll be back in the fall with a new season!
