Hello hello, and welcome to Episode 126 of Life On the Brink!
It has now been nearly one year since I became a mom and WOW what a year it has been. So much has changed in my life and I’ve definitely learned things about me and my outlook on motherhood, self-perception, etc. and I’m sharing those lessons with you today.
This is just a very candid chat about various parenting things, and though I touch on a few controversial topics, my hope is that this is an inspiring and, above all, encouraging talk. Also, Zoe adds her opinions here and there!
What’s in my teacup? My morning latte, featuring the Dark Seas blend from Neptune’s Fury Coffee.
7 LESSONS FROM MY FIRST YEAR OF MOTHERHOOD
(obviously the details are in the episode, but these are the overall bullets)
What works today doesn’t have to work forever.
Some things can only be learned from experience.
It’s ok to not love everything about a particular season, but there is sweetness in each one.
A low moment doesn’t negate a good day.
Your body will change SO much.
You gotta do what’s best for you and your baby.
Invest in you and then trust your instincts.
There is no mastering this. Truly every child is different and every parent is learning every day.
This Week’s Little Joy: In addition to getting some blonde highlights, which I think really compliments my coloring and adds a little summery touch, I’ve been using Jergen’s Natural Glow Self Tanning Lotion on my body and Jergen’s Sun Drops in my facial skin care routine to add just a little bit of color to the skin. The winter really zapped it out of me, and these small things have brought so much life to my look!
What I’m Listening To: The soundtrack to “Funny Face,” the 1957 musical comedy starring Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire.
